Why Arizona pools turn green so fast
Algae doubles in hours, not days, once water passes 85°F — and Chandler pool water spends all summer well above that. Add a monsoon storm that dumps dust (algae food) into the water and knocks out power to the pump, and a clear pool on Friday can be green by Monday.

Most green pools in our area clear in 3 to 7 days depending on how severe the bloom is, filter condition, and water chemistry. Truly black, neglected pools can take longer — we'll give you an honest timeline after seeing it.
Will you need to drain my pool?
Usually not. Most green pools recover with aggressive treatment and filtration. We recommend a drain only when chemistry makes recovery impractical — for example, extremely high stabilizer (CYA) that prevents chlorine from working, which is common in older Arizona pools.
Is it safe to swim once the water is blue?
Not immediately. Blue isn't the same as sanitized. We confirm chlorine and pH are back in the safe range and the water holds sanitizer properly before giving the all-clear.
How do I keep it from turning green again?
